It appears that our drumstick tree is the latest favourite of birds that visit our yard. White throated Kingfisher swinging from a branch. Picture taken by DD :).

Humming bird in the backyard.

T4i + Tamron 150-600MM lens. No tripod and handheld from about 20 feet and at 600MM. The image stabilization is pretty good with on this lens.

Great shot Ambhi. Humming birds are so fascinating. I will setup a feeder for them in spring and watch for them.

Great idea. I wanted to capture when their wings were fluttering. But this darn bird is so fast it just files off. Will try with a feeder. There's also a large creek nearby. Will bike there every weekend once the weather improves to capture wildlife.

'Getting the lens' and 'Retirement' are Oxymorons given the high cost of these lens. :)
