For me , it has to be punjab.....with a capital P......

Reason........the vibrancy of its culture ,the industriousness of its people ,their achievements in bollywood..........

..............and above all , for a military-minded person like me ,their contribution to the armed forces ,and defence of the country........

Their capacity for generating wealth.......

Their zest for life , inspite of a history littered with heartbreaking misfortunes.........

Their physical strength ,and their love for sport........

Their nonvegetarian habits

Their never say die spirit.......

And also they are an extremely good-looking people

Whats your choice ?

I like Indians in general. Don't care which state they belong to!
i don't care if they are vegetarians or non-vegetarians, rich or poor. I don't care if they are physically strong or weak.

actually i wanted to write ' which state you like most ' but there was no space to write the word ' most ' .

inspite of liking everyone , you must be liking some state for its qualities a little...just a little more....

It’s kind of a hard question here,.. since there are so many floating parameters here,..

*Good looking girls

*Height, Body, Personality pt. of view

*Openness, frankness, less cheat, fraud and 'heart and mouth' speaking the same language, Sportsmanship, Broad exposure to Hindi, Bolly, Sanskrit lingo, News, all corner Celeb and open worldwide familiarity knowledge,.. almost in each corner you say,..this groups perhaps have capability of enjoying all 12 diff Tv channels and its all diff. total 100+shows broadcasted in Hindi,..

*Their dressing, language, mixing and open nature point of view,..

…etc etc.

Over all I found, many hardcore Mumbai livings ( almost same with Kolkata, and Delhi raised too ) match very much with the kind of nature, that I like, expect,..as I found in many,…
Many members even here too, and also in other forums,...
like chicken marathi, Mastan bhai, MV, Anuji, Mayaji, and few mumbayites including you ( ashdoc ) were found vast exposures to Bolly, political, Hindi, History, Religion, diff. culture, Tv channels, Sanskrit lingo, other states and WW knowledge,..

For Openness and frankness pt of view Punjabis, I had few friends at work, college and they were very broad, Khel-Dil and heart-open. A true sportsman spirit.

For Height, Body personality, and girls especially,… sure Punjabi ( though, a little heavy build-up for me ), Gujarati and few black-buty Southie girls.. few Surati girls,.. ( their unique mental nature )
If pardoned the religion and food etc….Vora community ( half muslim ), and few sindhi girls were found carrying their very own, a very separate ( hat ke ) nature of been raised up, and a totally diff. breed kind of nature,…..

Hyderabadis ( few Bangloreans too ) found little hard to get ( understand ) them, due to
too far from Mumbai, Kolkata, delhi,..climate ( social ) , but still not that difficult,.. e.g. Kirks, Rajradio, few others,..

Chennai guys almost found very very very difficult to get till date since the college days,. They were ( per me only ) rigid, hard to mix and in their own community used to, with missing exposures to tons of TV channels and hence were found uncapable of understanding in tons other common culture, social behavior,.. etc unlike a typical Bombayite….

Lastly, Malayams very very difficult to even get them,.. the minute you think, you fed smthg very interesting and amusing, and results are polar opposite,
it was most annoying for them,,, too much far from Mumbai / North India,...
and found difficult to polarize linear with any hobby, interest, fonds, likings, disliking, Hindi/ TV shows, Movies, Shows, 150+ famous shows on TV now a days,..and tons of missing exposures in many other ways,... the people from,... Kerala, Chennai and Bangalore / Cochi,. Etc. - difficult to align with.
Hyderabadis were found a little closer to Mumbai like,..

UP / Rajasthaan, Bihar, MPs, Bengaali, Haryaanvi, Himachali, raised fellows.. no problem,….. I feel like they are Gujaratis.
AB Bajpeyi or this Poet guy, ( Kumar Vishwaas ) though not from Gujarat org..... my mind just does not even accept of him, of not being a Gujarati.

So,. Over all, I would go with Bombayites.

When it comes to food habits, somehow when it comes to girls,
mind just do not register about what she may or may not eating,.. may it be,.. bugs, ants, frogs, rats, snake, goat, ham, fish, dolP, and crocs,
and regardless of that era, mind still falls for an attractive good looking girl,.... be it fiirangi, hard core fish eaters baangis or Chini-chaauns,.. what not ! And, I still do not know this reason ! Y ?

btw,.. not sure,.. ( a question mark ) but someone said to me, that Bala saheb is also not even a org. Marathi fellow,
he also carries roots from somewhere else. ( 1-2 generation back )

I think you have framed the question wrong. Every person is different, I do not like a person because of his ethnicity but for his individual character.

In general my experience with Tamil people are so far better (mainly at work).

I also like Kannada,Oriya,Assamese people.

I may like beautiful girls from Pakistan also

I think, his question is in reference to,
with whom you can find and feel the easiness and comfort to work with, sharing walk, talk and joke,
mixing chemistry, extending friendship, can understand each other better, hobby, knowledge share, food, living and dressing styles,.. and such,..

I always found the typical long time Mumbai livers ( does not matter where the org. roots perhaps may be ) most comfortable for good friends
I was living in a Saurastra city and many tourist visitors, salesman, pharmacists, Kirloskar's engineers on trip, on business trip few Bombayites and they took almost no time to be my fast friends
and I had lots of very fast made friends with least knew about their families or such,..,
and local people there always wondered about it, that how come I am from AHD, Gujarat and still can get along with them so well,.. !

I personally liked few vora ( half hindu/Muslim ) community girls, due to their nice biwi like dressings, lean and thin and tall, pale faces with dupatta, height and body shaped figure
and Hindi speech and also sober etiquette with education. Their nature and thinking process was found quite different than our typical Hindu family arrogant and attitude girls,..

The area and community where I raised up,...whenever we had any marriages
these girlies loved to do us favor for the small amount ,...put heena on the bride with so intense designs,..and they even love our sweets and light dinners.
But to watch them doing their job with very interest that they almost forget, all around
that "unhein bhi koi dekh raha hai" ( she is being watched ) and almost forgot to lift that disturbing group of hairs (lut) coming in her way ! - truly, they were different nature wise.
