ILuvHyd;573387Hyd Ki - I took a 180 degree turn in last 6 years. That's the reason to start the R2A blog so you all know the full story. All the best with your job and R2I

WglVanitha You can send me a PM, but most of the information is already in this forum. All the best with your R2I.

Hi ILuvHYD,

You are a good writer.

Take no offense, but what is the proof that you are not a staff writer of this website, employed to boost traffic?
Some of your anecdotes sound too good to be true.

Thanks.

Continuing with my India vacation photos, this is the second trip we made to Ooty & Kodaikanal. What we learnt from our first trip to Kashmir:
• Prefer direct flights. One extra connection pretty much takes the whole day cutting into our vacation time and feels pretty tired.
  • Don't go thru travel agents. Had bad experience with makemytrip. With little effort and help from Trip Advisor, a trip can easily be booked. Also prefer booking direct from hotel websites.
  • Really impressed with Taj group of hotels, so we took a membership.
ILuvHyd - thank you for bringing back memories of my hometown!

Btw, that 3rd picture of the boats in the Sandynallah lake is with water at its lowest levels. I've seen the place when the water level was way up higher, almost close to the trees lining the shore!

It's a beautiful place. The food is also really good. Ooty is one of the hill stations that can be reached with ease from an airport. It's just around 3 hours from Coimbatore airport which makes it very convenient from a travel perspective. I uploaded some more photos here - https://picasaweb.google.com/101951265464353782930/20110527OotyKodaikanalTrip#

A tid-bit: Dil Se famous Chaiyya Chaiyya song was picturised in Ooty Mettupalayam train, Picture 2.

No Punjabi, this is Taj Savoy Hotel in Ooty

I stayed at Taj Madikeri in 2013 and it is one of the best. I will post that experience and photos later.

Hi Guys, We had recently moved from Dallas to Bangalore in June 2015 and are headed back to Dallas next month after a failed relocation attempt:emdgust:. I was looking for shipping options and came across this thread. We have about 50-60 boxes. Any recommendations on which shipping company to use? We had used Universal for our move to India and was not completely happy with their service and hence looking for options. Would appreciate any advise/inputs!

BTW very nice post by ILuvHyd! I can relate to most of what you all are saying! Thanks!
