How shall Hindu\'s respond to insults showered on Hinduism?

Magazine mocks Islam = 12 Killed, Movie mocks Hinduism = Rs 500 Crore Business

I merely want to discuss the point of tolerance on the part of Hindus. Whether PK is a good movie or a bad movie, whether or not PK actually insults Hinduism is not on my agenda. I am merely using it as an example.

If such a movie were to treat Islam in a similar way, what will the supporters of secularism in India say?

I do not mean to suggest that Hindus should take lessons from this incident and follow this path.

I think its always a sign of tolerance when one does not imitate immature and bad actions. If some fundamentals carry out despicable actions, they might get some response from their followers ,perhaps but none from anyone else. And because they react in that manner, it is no benchmark that we should recede to their level either. I think hindus are doing just fine in being tolerant

I think you are confused. Take a trip to Haridwar, bathe in Ganga and chill a bit. Will give you a perspective of what is Hinduism and why this way of life has survived for thousands of years.

Human beings should learn what's worth learning from others......and leave the rest.....attitudes will help people self-distruct.

Violence is a sign of backwardness.
Reacting to what people say is also a sign of lack of self awareness or lack of self worth.

I am an atheist, but I am proud of most aspects of Hinduism. Btw, Hinduism is not a religion as such, it's a way of life, this is my understanding, correct me if I am wrong?

Another thing, what people/babas/orgs preach may not necessarily be what Hinduism represents.

One of the best aspect if Hinduism is: its not a organized religion, everyone is free to practice as they like.

Clearly, Hindus should make more movies which mock Hinduism. It makes more business sense. More money --- good for the coutry good for the economy. Heck 500 crore could mean 50 NRIs R2Iing!! I do hope we take lessons from this incident and follow this path.

I hope our new PM will start a new initiative of making more such movies.

Then it should not be an issue if someone wants to practice as a Muslim, Sikh or a Christian.

Why do Hindu leaders get upset with the conversions to Christianity? They really are going against the Hindu ideology then??
