Chakraan;593347I don't understand this stock market. The results were good but crashed the share price after hours to $45

Chakraan, its not the "news" that is important in stock market......its the "reaction" to the news that is important. That's why I stay away from earnings unless I'm investing....for day trading its best to sell before the earnings (unless you have some kind of inside information).

SSGHere;593316DesBhakt,
Your picks had small swing. What kind of trade it was e.g. Market/Limit etc? What's was the spread/slippage? Any access to Level-II/ECN.

No access to Level-II.....for now my plan is pretty simple actually.....Look at stock that had strong earnings and wait for some dust to settle and get in with a tight stop loss. If I make money I sell it. Mostly I use limit orders, but sometimes I use market orders if I want to get out ASAP.

techynt;593267BTW if you are applying fundamental analysis as the main criteria for entering positions, I don't think it falls into the category of swing/day trading. Day trading is mostly based on TA, and the position is supposed to be closed at the end of day. And also you have to use an index not a stock to do it.

Swing trading or micro trend following can be done on individual stocks but you use lots of TA to enter and exit positions.

How do you apply fundamental analysis for stocks? What do you look for? Could you please explain the process?

Paper Trade. Do not take this trade. This is just to test.

Short ES at 2044
Intra-day reversal coming from resistance on Friday. Failure to hold above opening range today confirming it.
Stop just above 2052. Testing waters with one lot.

PS: This is not a day trade :)

Does YELP or GPRO look like a good buy at this level for a bounce trade?

AXP American Express got recently beat up by different news.
I bought a small position as I had been following the stock for quite some time.

Just wanted to post on this forum which I have been reading for quite some time.

Please note I am a newbie with limited experience.

I wanted to find if anybody else also did this. Please let me know if you have any comments either.

Not really a day trade - plan to hold this for long time!!!

Thanks.

Long on FEYE @ $44+, ideally wanted to enter around $42.6, but missed it.
