What a night for Mad Max : Fury Road !! What a movie. I am not a fast action movie buff. Hated those Furious Car series and almost missed out on Mad Max. Unless on one day, I accidentally watched a minute of Mad Max. I got glued to the movie and watched it like 100 times now ( yes, it is on HBO everyday )...

From start to finish , there was not one second of dull movement. I just loved the big Guitar guy riding with his Speakers on..

I am glad it took 9 awards.

What was you fav. movie ? Who did you root for ?

At the red carpet, it was Priyanka Chopra! :) After the red carpet intros, I went to sleep.

Haven't seen any of the movies to comment. Of interest is the documentary, A Girl in the River, which I will probably see. Hope it seeds a change globally, if not in Pakistan, with the so called (dis)honor killing of women.

I was rooting for "The Hateful Eight". Even though it's dark, very entertaining and gripping. I didn't feel the same when watching "Revenant" and "Mad Max Fury Road", but they got their due for being best in their areas. I felt producing those two movies is much tougher and a lot more effort would have gone in.

I also liked "The Big Short" and "Bridge of Spies". I thought Christian Bale would get it for actor in a supporting role in The Big Short but it went to Mark Rylance in Bridge of Spies, an equally gripping performance. I was disappointed that Jennifer Leigh didn't get it for her "Daisy Domergue" role in Hateful eight, I really enjoyed her performance.

I liked Martian for its entertainment and feel good elements, my kids also liked this movie. But I kind of knew that it will be difficult for it to bag many awards, nothing in particular felt extraordinary when compared with recent Gravity and Interstellar.

Haven't seen the rest of the movies but put Spotlight and Brooklyn on my watch list.

I missed red carpet, again busy with ironing clothes and then doing dishes.

But I saw her during award function, she didn't feel normal in that dress and the top portion is too tight as though she's suffocating. She's capable of looking much better, not sure if it's her make up or something else.

I was rooting for Leonardo Dicaprio to win best actor & he did!! Yeaa!!
The internet (FB & twitter) just went crazy! Haven't watched the Revnant, but he is one of my favorite actors, and in my view should've already won best actor!

I too missed her as I did not see end-to-end. What was her role there ? Was it to address the controversy ?
Will go and watch her this evening.

She is an up and coming star in Hollywood! Her TV serial, Quantico, is a hit. She won the People's Choice Award for Favorite Actor in New Series.

She is filming the new Baywatch movie, in our neck of the woods, with Dwayne "Rock" Johnson.

I am a big movie buff. I use all available avenues for watching movies.

Theater - For new must see kind of movies, kids pressure - Starwars, Kung Fu Panda types. I also have a group of friends who go on Tuesdays for discounted prices. In BJs and Costco, we buy discounted tickets in advance, 2 for $17 for non-Tuesday theater.
Red Box, HBO, Netflix, pay per view for others.
