Alaska Day trips/excursions suggestions

Post by mumbaikar »

We are going to Alaska this summer by cruise-tours. The main ports are Skagway , Ketchikan ,Janeau and while returning from Denali , we will be in Fairbanks overnight for a day. There are just few hrs at College Fjord too.

There are tons of options available at these ports for day trips/excursions, and most of the excursions are expensive. Hence need first hand suggesions from people who have been to Alaska and really enjoyed the day trips. It should be worth the money per person.

looking for suggestions (must do) at these ports. Is it good to book via cruise lines or much cheaper if you book it online on your own.

thanks

We are also going this summer with a few other families on a 7 day cruise + 4 days land tour.

Quite a few of the excursions have age and weight limits. We have booked our excursions through Costco (which actually goes through a third party called Shore-Ex).

We are doing Misty Fjords, Dog Sledding and Wilderness & Wildlife tour.

Check out cruisecritic.com and their forums for tips and suggestions.
