New OCI - after passport renewal

I just got a message that OCI for kids up to the age of 20 years is to be re-issued each time the US Passport is re-issued. This is a press release by the CGI New York; there is no date on the letter. Can someone who knows more about this, please share information.

Yes, it says that. But we have travelled twice (2015 and Dec-2017) with the current OCI, and new passport + old passport (that has the stamp).. No issues.

I've seen multiple members here say the same thing, there was another thread on it. You should be fine

You can travel with old passport PLUS new passport and OCI.

But, Yes.. we renewed the OCI for my kid. In OCI website there is link - Miscalleneous Services.

It was smooth process, Rs 1600/ are fees, involves police verification.

Only problem with renewed OCI is - it does not mention original(previous) OCI issue date. if one looks at new OCI, its as if - DS became OCI in 2018.
