Any experiences of owning a LCD LED HDTV

I am thinking of buying an HDTV soon. Every time I plan to buy one, there is something new that is always out there and makes it confusing.

Initially, it was LCD, then Plasma, DLP, now LCD LED, LCD LED with 3D, etc., I am not a big 3D fan, and the glasses are a big turn-off.

I am planning to go with a Samsung 55 inches LCD LED TV. Has anybody owned this or any other brands?
