Could you please elaborate on roles which involve little / no-travel ? Roles involve heavy travel.?

Doing Independent Consulting in India is a rare thing. I do know few senior level resources who have been able to do it but they all have been working in India all along and have been retailned by end clients.

I am in the same boat as yours. Will be helpful to keep in touch in this quest.

Can't help with this..

There are no two similar job function. So it's hard to define specific profile which require travel and which one does not.. Unlike in U.S where you either work full time or travel Mon-Thu as consultant, there are more options in India..

By trying to generalize /speculate, i'll only confuse you more.

When you start your job hunt, you'll find out all sorts of opportunities open up.
