I had the same thought as well, :) but its harder to get obese in India compared to US. There are more vegetarians, most people eat out only occassionaly so I think this would be more of an entertainment than life style change.
Taco Bell menu starts at 18, which should be attractive, I had gone to subway the veggie sandwich was around 80. They are also offering bottomless beverages which is a first time for fast food chains in India. The news said it did not attract enough customers for refllls maybe because the place was too crowded. I thought it could be bcoz people are not used to the concept yet. :)

Crunchy Tacos with POTATOS???? and people call that Mexican food ??? NO THANK YOU. Why can't these multi-national food chains have the nerve to sell the original stuff in India? Why does every burger, every Pizza and every taco needs to be filled with potatos (or chicken)? The reason: Potatos are cheap and these guys make a huge margin from selling food stuffed with potatos. The day they get rid of potatos and paneer from their menu items, I won't miss the original.
Take for example Mc Donalds India's "potato" burger. I think a simple Masala Dosa (Pancake with mashed potatos and lentils :))) is probably more "American" than the potato burger in India served by Mc Donalds :)
I miss the Taco Bell crunchy tacos with BEANS INSTEAD OF MEAT and they don't have it on their menu.
What's a better place to have Mexican food? Try Cream Center (Mumbai, Chennai, Bangalore et all).

Everything and one is attractive at 18. So, I still have to wait quite a bit for the veggie sandwich.
Won't a refill runout at the bottom of a bottomless beverage.:emrose:

I have been thr twice and both times they were out of ice. People were happy as they were getting extra free refills or more pepsi...typical indian mentality!
I agree with rajaram123.....tacos with potatoes really sucked but what else can I expect for 18rs!. Fajita burrito and veg quesedillas were awesome. even the bean burrito was close to US bean burrito.
