OCI part A filled 2 weeks back

Post by LAtoKovai »

Hi,
I have completed and submitted the OCI application Part A online On December 14th for myself, my husband and my child. Then on the next day I sent application for Surender certificate alone for me and my husband by post because I had lot of confusions. I am still waiting for our surrender certifcate.
But my question is can I still use the same application for OCI that I did two weeks back (To apply for our OCI after I recieve SC) or do I need to start a new application and fill out the PART A again? Is it still valid the PartA oci form did 2-3 weeks back?

Please let me know.
Thank you

Here is the quote from chicago indian consulate
#
Unless you send hard copy of the application to the Consulate with the requisite documents and fees, the Consulate will not come to know about your application and your application will not get processed at all. #
the idea is to wait for SC and submit the forms then only will get process. You do not need to refile on line.

To answer your question. Yes it is valid. I applied for OCI today at Bangalore FRRO, and my online application was 6 weeks old.

An actual experience in London, UK.

Web filing OCI 13th Nov.
Surrender certificate recd. 27th Nov.
Submission of docs at the High commission 27th Nov.
Web reports under process 3rd Dec
10th Decemebr Granted
17th Decemeber Printed and despatched.
23rd Decemeber Received.
28th December Picked up from the High comm.

Another point to note.
The form said 35x35mm size of photo.
Guidlines said 2"x2". The guidelines wins.
Photo background should be off-white.

I have been told that the web app is valid for a year, but take it with a pinch of salt.

Yeah! Actually, I had told him to not plan to travel to India this winter, and that it could be sometime in March. Sometimes they are not as slow as the us immigration.
