Hi,
I have a query for which i need your assistance.
In my passport my name is
Given name: XXX YYY
Last Name: AAA BBB
While filling the I-94, Since there was not enough space to fill my first name, I filled it without the space like
First Name: XXXYYY
Last Name: AAA BBB
I applied for SSN and got it with the same name as in my I-94. (Without the space).
How do i go about writing my name in my DL ? (without space or with space)
Would there be a problem in the future while applying for DL or Tax filing etc.
Please advise.
Thanks,
Santhosh

Name in SSN and Passport
a similar question. When applying for naturalization - for whatever reason, I was told we cannot have a middle initial in the signature and the naturalization certificate came without the middle initial. But by then I already had a Social Security and there my name has the middle initial. Does any one think there could be problems later - like when I go to claim social security benefits?
Name in SSN and Passport
I have had this issue , as my last name is too long to fit in SSN system.. I have not had any issues because of name mismatch yet. I think IRS and SSN name needs to match. I guess to get your paycheck, ssn name also need to match with employer(W-9)

Will not be a problem anywhere as all important docs taxes, hospital records, property docs, banks will have SSN. Its just a pain to lookup records while on the phone. You need to keep a record of who has your name in what order. Over 10 years I had 20+ variants of my name. Lot more were seen on my credit reports. Lazy people may just write one part of both first and last name, or make one of them your middle name, and create a mess.
While on H1B, I renewed Indian passport with the first name and last name corrected. I went to the SSN office, and filled up a name correction form with my Indian passport as the supporting doc. Did the same when I filed for GC.
When I applied for naturalization I shortened my first name and last name to have just one part xxxx yyyy, aaaa bbbb to just yyyy aaaa. Then the task of updating/faxing this name change doc to a million places. From 32 characters to 10 - life is now short and sweet :)) , but it was work I had to do.
