My parents are applying for Visitor/Tourist visa to US and has appointment with US consulate in India day after tomorrow.
They have not obtained any Visitor insurance yet.
Please advice if they would need to show Visitor insurance proof to the consulate officer in order to obtain the tourise/visitor visa (B Visa) successfully.
Please advice ASAP so that they can obtain the visitor insurance by tomorrow itself in case it is needed...

You do not need to buy an insurance now. They should get their visitor visa first and when they plan to visit you in USA,then you can buy an insurance cover from there.
They need to prove to the Visa officer about their ties in their home country and will come back after their visit to USA.
