Want to R2I... this year 2011 or 2012.

I am visiting India and I see lot of good prospective here. I feel life is better now after spending a month. Initially feeling was not good very crowded and congested and unclean roads etc... After spending a month now I got used to it and feel better and see better prospectus for career and finance. Also see good schools some of them are better than US schools and food is great no question. Traveling industry has improved here.
So entertainment, travel, fun is no problem. No problem for water and electricity now and
food. Pollution has reduced a bit I do not see smokey autorickshaws (very few)
trucks. Nice weather in Bangalore. Very nice resorts to spend weekend or a week.
Best of all staying close to relatives and friends. It is not a perfect world there are many issues too. Overall I feel it is better. Now I am thinking of R2I now. Biggest question bothering me now is kids school. Is it too late to put kids in school for 2011? So do I have to wait till 2012? What are the options of putting them to schools in 2011 if I decide to R2I now?

Good luck to you. I have also felt the same way. One gets used to things in a few days and then can enjoy all the positives.

It depends a lot on the age of kids and the type of school. If the kids are young they will have lesser trouble adjusting. Also, enrolling them into international school will probably make the transition easier.

Admission to most good schools for this academic year (which began last month) were completed in the October 2010-Feb 2011 timeframe. We managed to get admission for our 3 year old for a preschool spot in Bangalore, after a bit of begging and pleading. It would be good if you mention how old the kids are.

One kid is 7years and going to first grade and second one is in 3d grade (8 years).
If there are any schools which will accept admission in middle of this year in bangalore or mysore let me know.

You should be able to find some school for mid year admission. Whether you like the school or not is subjective and depends on what you expect from school.
Apart from school admission itself, think about kids adjustment itself. First of all the kid is new to India and will be a new admission kid among many oldies:) Added to it, late joined kid as well. So, the kid has to really manage many things. If I were you, I will wait for next academic year but then I also realize that , along with the school, there are many other R2I realted issues need to be synchronized.
If you feel everything is settled except school, don't worry too much. Just come down, give yourself and kids some time and let them start in mid year in whichever school that has openings. For next academic year, you will be better informed about which school to chose.

Most of the schools are open to mid term admissions in Bangalore. If you speak over phone, they may/may not provide you with complete details. Incase you are still in Bangalore, suggest you to shortlist a few schools, meet the admissions incharge/princi personally. Since your kids are in 1st and 3rd grade, they might have to appear for a written test. The schools may go easy on the languages. Third language generally starts from 4th grade in a cbse school. Some schools provide additional coaching in languages - initially its tough, but kids do manage it.

Any suggestion for place to stay in Bangalore.. close to Bannerghata road.
Please suggest nice apartment or single family home (preferably quiet place) and
cost of renting.
