Hello all,
My wife is in India for last one year and she is going to reside there now. But she has Bank accounts and Investments in MF etc through DMAT account. She has TAX RETURN file as NRI.
Now what she has to do or how to inform the bank etc that she is changing her resident status from NRI to RI . Is there any special form or any other means to declare it ?

That I would also like to know.
After my R2I, I went to the bank and told them to close my FCNR/NRE accounts and transfer to RFC.
Open ord account.
Appd for a new PAN, but they sent me the card with my previous PAN.
Next time when I filed the tax return, filed as resident.
Did not make any special efforts to inform any one of my changed status.
