I recently opened a HDFC NRE/NRO savings account. The opening process was good especially since they have a postbox in NY so I didnt have to bear expensive courier charges.
I have opened up some FDs with them since then. However, they claim to send the FD advice by POST. I was wondering if anyone in US has FDs with them and have received the advice by post. I opened some last month and haven't received anything.

Yes, HDFC Bank sends statements via post. I have NRE and NRO a/c and I receive statements regularly from them

Thanks kdc_blue. How about hard copy of FD advice? My bank ( in UP ) isn't sending them to US. They asked me provide Indian address. It seems ICICI is better in this area.

Why do you need a hard copy? Is not your statement or a softcopy of transactions from online access sufficient?

You are right. In most cases, I wont need a paper copy. But, I thought all banks in India still give a paper copy. So, why should HDFC be any different? I guess I just want to protect myself from a scenario where there is a sox violation in their databases and someone accidentally deletes my row from the FD database :-p - then I am screwed

Did you open FD with them? Their interest rate for what they call Cumulative Deposits seems good?
How do I go about opening one from the US?
thx

I opened an NRE/NRO savings account with them. The online banking has many useful features. One of the features is 'open a new fd'
