Good places to rent a home in Marietta (Atlanta), Georgia for R2A family

One of my friend and his family are doing R2A after living in India for 9 years. They have narrowed down their search for schools to "Walton High School" and "Dodgen Middle School" in Marietta. I need some feedback on the quality of these schools. Also I need advice from locals living in the area on finding good and safe neighborhoods to rent a house close to these schools. Any input on good communities and subdivision will be highly appreciated.
