School/Apt suggestion near Exora Business Park (Sarjapur ? Marathahalli)

Post by kzaigha »

Hi

I have a very good offer from a tech company near Exora Business park (between Sarjapur-Marathahalli) near Outer Ring Road.

I am tempted to accept the offer but not sure about children schooling. I have 2 girls (older going to 3rd grade and the younger KG). They don't know any regional language. Any suggestion on school near that area. I am looking for schools:
- Western academic culture (smaller school size, independent thinking). Not necessarily international schools. ICSC/CBSE boards are OK for me.
- Will admit children in mid-session.
- Would be greatly helpful if they don't have any regional language (hindi, Kannada) upto 4th/5th grade. My children can't read/write anything other than English.
- Reasonable fee. I am guessing I should be able to afford upto 1 lacs/annum per child.

Anyone with similar exp (small children moving in mid-session): Would like to know what was their experience.

Any suggestion regarding residence near that area and closer to good schools.

Thanks
Zak

We are R2I ing in May 2013 and we went to Bangalore this summer to check out schools and apartments. We loved Greenwood High based on customer service and the campus. Inventure was a close second. Not a fan of Gear, Ryan, etc. As far as taking Hindi, the school itself recommended not to take Hindi for the 4th grader since there will be too much catch up. For my 4 year old, we are taking Hindi.

Regarding apartments, we liked a few like like Adarsh Palm, Shoba Daffodils, Brigade, etc. The best is to move there, stay somewhere, go to commonfloor.com or one of the web sites, find brokers for each property and check out several. You will find that some have higher NRI concentration than others, and each one has slight variations and it all depends on what you are looking for. You will have to see in person and pick one.
