Transit visa

Hi I am going back o India this dec,my j2 visa has expired on passport,I hav valid extension papers DS2019.
i know I need transit visa if I tak British airways,but had doubts regard Luftanza?
i am travelling with two kids 9 yr and 3 yr old ,so don't want to mak travel messy.

Plz anybody travelled recently?I WENT THRO OLD POST BUT ALL ARE OLD AND MIXED OPINIONS.

See if you can transit through Brussels (Jet Airways). You don't need a visa then. Another option might be Emirates or Ethihaad from JFK, New York to Dubai/Abu Dhabi.

London / Frankfurt might not be a good option for you as they may require visa if you don't have valid stamping on your passport.

Most of the European airlines require a transit visa. I believe the middle east airlines dont require transit visa. Have travelled via Qatar Airways and did not require a transit visa.

I believe the best thing to do is call up the customer service representative for the particular airlines and get more information.As far as I remember Lufthansa doesn't need a Transit visa

OP,

Travel through the Middle East doesn't require transit visa - that would be the easiest for you albeit a little expensive. We have traveled by Qatar, Kuwait, Etihaad and Emirates on different occasions and we didn't require transit visa at any time.

Transiting through Europe can be a little tricky.

Transiting between two Schengen countries would require a transit visa. For example, transiting from Brussels (Belgium) to Frankfurt (Germany) would require a visa since both the countries are signatories to the Schengen agreement. I'm speaking from a recent personal experience with regard to Schengen countries. So you might want to avoid a connecting flight between Schengen countries.
