Is travel via Munich better vs. London(LHR) for older parents?

Post by rajaram_telang »

Hello,
My parents (father needs wheel chair, both can't speak English) will be traveling from Mumbai to Wilmington North Carolina and I have a choice between two routes -

Mumbai-Munich-USA
OR Mumbai-London-USA

My concerns are-
1) In German airports sometimes the officers unnecessarily harass Indians. Also I never traveled via Munich till date so hesitate to recommend that to parents.
2) London is usually really sensitive to any untoward security instances and will be quick to stop/cancel flights. I never traveled via London so again hesitate to recommend that to parents.

I would appreciate any opinion of which of the two choices would be better. Any recent experiences?

Thanks

Is the flight direct to Wilmington, NC from Munich or London? If yes, then London. If not, I would suggest a direct flight to NY, preferably Air India or Jet Airways (EWR) with sufficient transit time in between.
