where to buy used cars?

Post by anicraj »

Hello everyone,
I did not R2I (I wish i could) but on an assignment here in pune for 12-18 months. We initially stayed in a service apartments and moved to a real apartment couple of weeks back. My company have provided me a car and driver but he stays with us only for 10 hours (9am to 7pm), last week there was an emergency, it was stressful with no car and no one here in a new city. So i have decided to buy a car myself and employ a driver - emergency situation i can drive myself (though i have never driven in india). Since am going to be here only for another year, what do you all recommend - used or new car? am leaning towards used car as there will not be much depreciation in a year. If so where to buy? i don't know anyone here and don't speak the local language. any reputed used car store like carmax ??? I live in Kalyani nagar if that matters.

By the way if anyone looking for job in IT, let me know - am setting up a new team here in Pune.

I would suggest buying an used automatic. I have a Maruti A-star. I bought it from an agency after coming across their advertisement on cardekho.com . Since there is not much of a demand for used Automatic cars, I was able to negotiate. It is a small car but works great on the congested and small roads of Pune.
