Moving to Hyderabad with rising high schooler and rising middle schooler

Post by Virginiadesi »

hello,
We are moving to Hyderabad in July from DC area. I have two daughters - one getting into high school and the other into middle school. The elder one has to join an international school. Younger one has more flexibility. Appreciate any suggestions for schools particularly high schools. How is the standard of education in international schools in Hyderabad? Particularly want to hear from parents who moved with kids in high school. Are kids from international schools getting into good colleges in US when they apply after 12th grade?

Appreciate if anyone can respond.Your move is a decided deal. Education of the children is a smaller concern than settling down and enjoying the R2I. No matter which school there are in, they will adjust, and do well. Desi daughters are notoriously adjustable as well.
They will both go to phoren colleges, if not in USA, there is UK, there is Canada, Australia, etc.. So long as you have the money to bankroll the thing, every year there is a college mela in the Indian cities, when foreign college come to sell themselves.
Like the song says.... don't worry, be happy.

I think you are a little too late for the upcoming academic year.

Having said that, you will have little choice and probably pay higher fees to get into international schools that will accommodate your kids. You shouldn't worry too much about standard of education in most schools in Hyderabad (each and every school will have some issue or other that we need to compromise and compensate at home).

I would suggest start contacting all known schools immediately to see if they can take in your kids and if you have a choice between two schools, we can definitely evaluate pro's and con's between them.

Hey - Apologies for the delayed response. I didn't check r2i forums last month!!

International School of Hyd - I remember hearing good reviews, but I cannot vouch for their reviews. Sorry!

May be other Hyd R2I'ers can help?
