Help With School Admission In Bangalore?! Do I Need An Agent?

Post by RajB »

We are planning to Return-to-India to be of support to sick/aging parents. My FIL, an ex-serviceman is undergoing treatment for prostate cancer and needs care.

We have a 6 year old son. He has just completed the 1st grade (1st standard) from a public school in North Carolina.

I tried calling a few schools - St Josephs, Bishop cottons boys etc etc. On calling, I didn't even get past receptionists. They were rather curt "Sorry, no admission" and hung up

  • Do schools have an NRI-quota?
  • Do local schools/convents admit kids in 2nd grade? How can I get an appointment for admission?
  • Does anyone have experience using an agent for school admissions?

I was wondering if an expensive ?international school? the only option for NRIs

Try DPS after you land here. They would consider it. Don't call instead visit school and insist to meet pricipal. After all they are all behind money.. DPS is known for that.
