http://www.bpdigitalworld.com/mpingir/

Found it via ads on rediff.

Has any one tried this? Any experiences?

Their home page is very light on details, which makes me wonder if it is genuine. Not clear if it is VOIP like vonage or a calling card which requires another phone line.

VoIP phone - Vonage, Sunrocket, Skype, majikjack

Hi
I am planning on moving to Aundh,Pune around Jun 07. I was looking into what might be
a good home-office setup (in terms of bandwidth, power etc)

My requirement is to have a good broadband provider which can give me and good speed for vpn
and VOIP line to US. I would also like to look into a UPS so that frequent power-outages do not
have impact.

As anybody experience any of the ISP (i heard Airtel but mostly in the SOUTH).
Any idea of costs for ISP/UPS that work .

Thanks a lot

I really did not understand what you mean by VPN,Voip etc since I dont have a IT background, but I can tell you what I use.
I have a 512 kbps DSL connection from Tataindicom. Has unlimited download/upload and is Rs1850 plus tax per month.Works fine. I have been with this company since 6yrs now and generally have had few problems. Just have to stay calm and get your job done.
As far as voice is concerned I have a USB Robotics phone connected to Skype. Gives me great sound and video with a webcam.
I also have all computer equipment (computer, monitor, printer, modem, wireless router, computer UPS etc) connected to a line that stays live during a power outage thru a invertor system that is also connected to other points in the house.
A invertor system should be around Rs.10,000 and a UPS for the computer about Rs.3000.

The UPS came with the computer system. Compaq computer with APC UPS systems. All retailers have many choices. Invertors are available dime a dozen at every corner. All right here in Pune. Branded or specially made for you by the local guy in your area. Aundh is very developed and all this is a single phone call away. Quick and easy. Pay and smile.

MPINGI offers VOIP service from $34.99 a month which is $10 more than vonage.

Their service includes some great features.
1. Unlimited calls to India
2. Support in India (If we use their service there).

What do you guys think about this service? Is this better than Vonage to use in India because if there is a problem with the router they will support in India which is not the case with Vonage.
