Any idea on the interview process, prospects of this etc?
Is there anyone in this forum who has attended any such interview .. If so, can you please give your experiences. Also, is there any one who is working as a kumon instructor ?? Would be really thankful to receive your opinions on this role and how it fits a part time (busy at home) mom.
TIA.

Kumon is a franchise operation. You need to qualify as instructor to operate your franchise. There is an upfront investment for the office space where you will run your center. Usually the fee is $100 per student. So if you can enroll 50 students you should be able to get about $2,000 per month after all the expenses for about 100 hours worth of work.
Above is from my observation of local Kumon center. The person who operates this is a local County Board of continuing educational services' employee.

I think the OP's question is not to start a franchise but to get hired by a franchisee as a teacher.
Salary expected for Kumon Instructors
My guess - less than $15/hr (in the best case) and here's how I arrived at this number:
1) Kumon is one of the less expensive franchises to start (as I remember it) and the profitability comes from vol and low operational expenses
2) Many of the instructors/academic helpers employed at Kumon are high school kids
3) School going kids typically making a little more than min wages?
Based on these observations, I'm guessing that the salary range would be $10 - $15 hrly.
Please keep us posted w/ your findings

I would second dosailvr, but on the lower side.
It's more like $10. Most kumon francisees are tutors themselves and hire high school/college kids to help with load.. So don't expect anything more than 10 per hour.. So after S.S/Medicare taxes, you can expect 7 bucks in hand....
Any interview would be more to check your ability to handle kids who are running and jumping around..
or your ability to handle desi parents who are usually pushy...

One can deduce from my post that franchisee cannot pay much.
