Hello,
I am planning on shifting items from Chicago to Mumbai in Oct. I understand this is an oft repeated question, but can anyone suggest a trusted shipping company?
There are a few choices -
Universal Relocations
UniRelo (not the same as above)
Air7seas
Shipping details are - approx 9 boxes; 50 cu ft.
Each of the above company's Google and other forum reviews are mixed (very good to very bad). This makes choosing a bit tricky.
Any help is greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Shipping companies - suggestions again!!
Anybody thinking of shipping your valuable items from the US to India, please stay away from OMG Global Shipping. I had an extremely frustrating experience from the day their packers and movers arrived at our house. Until that day they acted nicely like they knew this business well and have good experience in this field. The guys they sent to pack and load items were goons. The container was supposed to arrive at 10 that day and did not show up until 5 pm that day. The movers threatened me by showing some fineprint and loaded most of my stuff into their truck and were abt to leave. OMG ignored all our calls till 5 pm and still claims that they did not receive any calls. The movers were waiting without doing anything after 1 pm. I had to pay a portion of the waiting charges (same hrly rate as for loading) which obviously OMG is denying. In a hurry they dumped all the stuff into the container (many items were broken upon arrival). Movers messed up the packing list. Gave wrong info to OMG that the container was full and left without completibg the job. I had to load the stuff myself next morning. It was raining and I slipped off the ramp and I am still undergoing treatment for my ankles. The driver (very very inexperienced - spent an hr to bkup to the driveway initially and broke some lever the next day) did not show up as planned to take the container back. Container was at our house for 3 days which was very risky to us and others. Also, the container they sent smelt so bad on the inside. The movers and I felt like throwing up all the time. Extremely frustrating experience with OMG. Can never recommended this company to anybody.

Though movers did not mention to us of any such activity we are truly sorry for any inconvenience you may have faced. We understand the container arrived late around 4:30 pm. However, as explained earlier, it was all due to port congestion where trucker couldn’t pull out the container and was beyond our control. Ports are run by the local authorities and we have no control over them and containers are given to truckers on first come first serve basis on availability. Consequently, we did not bill you for 4 hrs of labor wait time (rather took that cost on us) after completing the packing by 1:00 pm.
We make sure we are always reachable to our customers and answer all their calls in timely manner. Correspondingly, we stayed in touch with you throughout your move. After the loading was complete, we spoke to you to confirm the same and you did. The following day, we received a call and an email from you requesting that you have some last minute shopping to do and would like us to delay the pickup of container so you can load more stuff on your own, which we did (container was dropped at your house for 2 days per your request).
We have been serving individuals relocating to India and other countries for many years now and have numerous satisfied clients. We can gladly share the details if needed. Once again, we are extremely sorry that you had such an unpleasant experience. Customer satisfaction is the top priority at Om Global Shipping and we continually strive to provide every customer with a great experience.
