I have been a regular reader of 'Gauri Lankesh' magazine for a number of years. She was a fearless journalist who always stood up against the fascist forces. She was a very active social activist who fought for several worthy causes. It was a regular routine of mine every Sunday to walk to the store near my house and buy a copy of her magazine. She happened to live just a kilo meter from where I live and I am deeply saddened by her death. Shame on those who killed her and I hope the police will bring those to justice. RIP Gauri, you will be greatly missed !

Yes, she was so fearless just like her Father. I read several editions of Lankesh Patrike(her Father's magazine) in the past but not her's "Gouri Lankesh" Patrike

No one yet knows who the killers are and what was their motive. So why blame right wing before the investigation is complete? It very well could be but I like to wait for all the facts to come out.

Info I read are:

She tried to rehabilitate naxals and it was not received kindly
She was trying to expose more corruption details of DKShi
She was treating Jignesh Mevani and Kanaihya Kumar as her adopted sons
She was trying to write a more detailed investigative report on recent dispute on whether Lingayats are not Hindus like they claim to be

In 9 months, assembly elections will be held in KA, so hired murderers might be from any quarter.

Cong govt or Police dept in KA seems to be inefficient in solving such cases as they have not nabbed why Kalburgi was murdered after all these months.

But , yeah..quite a fearless lady with rationalist thoughts.

What Investigations??? Give me a break!! Narendra Dabholkar, Govind Pansare, Dr Kalburgi were killed and nothing has happened. Now add Gauri to the list. I do not want to reveal too much of my personal connections to prove my point. The people who killed them have always called them out in the open, and threatened them in the open. The cops know very well who do these killings. Even the MO is the same. They wear helmets show up on a motorcycle and do a well planned assassination. I know other well known rationalists who get death threats for doing simple things such as eating upma in a playground while there is eclipse.

Right wing conservatives do not want the voice of reason, & logic. Brain washed people who support them unconditionally, is what wins them elections.

It is beyond insane, ludicrous and stupid when people defend and find excuses for cold blooded murder or any murder.
