Credit Freeze before R2I

I am thinking of freezing my credit before I R2I. Has anybody done this before?

My readings has led me to understand that the credit reporting agencies will send me a PIN that I can use to unfreeze the credit file when I want to. If requested can/will they send the PIN to an Indian address?

I did credit freeze with TransUnion and Equifax. They do send you a PIN which can be used to unfreeze temporarily if there be a need. The credit freeze depends on which US state you belong to. For example for CA residents, credit freeze with all the three agencies is possible. For TX only two of them will allow it (If you have some sort of credit theft then all the three will allow it).

It could get tricky if you provide India address. Let us know what your experience is!

Thanks for the info. I live in Texas and according to the table in the article I will not be able to apply for credit freeze. Anyway, I will try to contact them and see if anything has changed now.
