R2I Immediately [Dump the house or not?]

Post by rangerboy »

Don't you get it? OP borrowed $90K on his house (when its value was inflated). Spent that on buying a property in India and now he refuses to pay that $90K back. OP wants to cheat and seeking help in this forum to cheat. And there are good hearted forum members advising him on how to cheat. How would the OP feel if someone borrows $90K from him and say Sorry, I cannot pay it back. In his words: Of course, I dont feel like paying back.:emangry:

It is unethical. You signed papers that you will repay, but you are reneging on that. Don't play such tricks in India after you R2I. The lenders know how to get his money back from you. You are just misusing the trust US lenders had on you.

hoodwink;158933I would sell it for 15K loss as you had bouth it for 215K and now the offer is for 200K. Return the equity 90K back to the lender.

I don't know why you are so getting mad about it. Is it that u r pissed off that the OP can get away with it legally and you yourself couldn't take "advantage" of it? Is it a case of sour grapes? What the OP can get away with would not even be considered peanuts compared to other things happening. If you want to talk about ethics then maybe you need to talk about the ethics of the banks and realtors who gave mortgages and sold homes at inflated values. Or the Government that mandated and loans be given to all and sundry. Atleast the OP has the excuse that he was not experienced in all this. But, the banks and others are not.

No bank or mortgage lender put a gun on OP's head and forced him to purchase a house. He signed the papers fully knowing what he was doing. You are alluding that I was jealous of OP. Not only me, there are many others who never think about cheating, we will only be grateful if someone lends us money. Our upbringing will not let us do such things. One question to you: Will you let someone who borrowed $90K from you just walkaway. Can this happen in India?
