Fellow Indians...
This I think is a must for our forum here and so, I take the liberty to initiate this thread.
We all know very well that India is a land of wonders and every Indian (Son-of-the-Soil) has contributed to make it "Good-Baad or Ugly" in his/her sweet way.
That said, I'd like to request you to pick a person worthy of praise and/or criticism (whenever you come across one - in public life) and share your thoughts about the person with special emphasis on character, sacrifice, achievement, excellence and other note worthy contribution to the one thing we all can relate to and feel proud of. The post could be as simple as a few words of praise without necessarily dwelling too much on the individual. But if you do, it may be a good idea to pen a couple of words/sentences to appreciate the individual in your own words and style or provide a web-link.
Thanks in advance.
NOTE: This is not a discussion thread. So, please refrain from going back and forth on any particular individual or post.

What about Amitabh Bachchan
I think the trivial info about him itself is awesome.....One of the finest actors in Indian cinema...
Amitabh Bachchan in Zanjeer (1973)
I think the trivial info about him itself is awesome.....One of the finest actors in Indian cinema...
Saat Hindustani was Amitabh's first and the last black and white movie.
He is 6'2"(191cm) Tall.
He got Rs. 5000 for his first film Saat Hindustani, Rs. 7000 for Anand and Rs. 7500 for Parwaana[10].
Amitabh Bachchan married Jaya Bhaduri after the success of the movie Abhimaan (directed by Hrishikesh Mukherjee). In this movie Amitabh and Jaya play a successful singing couple. In addition to Abhimaan, Amitabh and Jaya acted together in films such as Zanjeer, Chupke Chupke, Mili, Sholay, Silsila and Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham.
His favourite screen name is Vijay, which he had as his character name in over 20 movies.
His parents initially planned to name him "Inquilaab", which means "Revolution" [11].
He is ambidextrous, though on-screen he is most often seen using his left hand [12].
Before entering the film industry, Bachchan applied for a job with All India Radio. Now known for his powerful, baritone voice, he was inexplicably turned down [13].
Has a brother, Ajitabh, with whom he was reunited later in his life.
He has a double M.A. (Master of Arts) degree.
He learned sign language for his 2005 film Black [14].
He has played a dual role in many films such as Don, Kasme Vaade, Desh Premee, Satte Pe Satta, Aakhree Raasta, Toofan, Adalat, The Great Gambler, Bade Miyan Chote Miyan, Sooryavansham, and Lal Baadshah. He also played a triple role in Mahaan.
He has done playback singing for many of his own movies such as Mr. Natwarlal, Lawaaris, Silsila, Pukar, Toofan, Baghban and Baabul.
In the 1970s and early 1980s he was frequently paired opposite Shashi Kapoor and together they starred in many hit films such as Roti Kapda Aur Makaan, Deewaar, Kabhie Kabhie, Trishul, Shaan Silsila and Namak Halaal. They last appeared together in the flop film Akayla in 1991.
He is the only actor who achieved at least one hit every year for 14 consecutive years - from Zanjeer in 1973 to Aakhree Raasta in 1986.
While filming the movie Aks, he did much of his own stunt work even though he was 58 years old at the time. During one fight scene, he jumped 30 feet down a waterfall.[1] [2]
At the age of 64, Amitabh Bachchan created a cinematic world record. He shocked the entire unit of Apoorva Lakhia's Shootout at Lokhandwala by completing 23 scenes in 5 hours....an unheard-of feat in any part of the world [15].
Although Amitabh Bachchan has received two national awards, it is still less than southern counterparts like Mammootty, Mohanlal and Kamal Haasan. This is probably due to lesser creative/innovative/quality Hindi movies as compared to other Indian language films. He even received Padma Bhushan after Rajnikanth received it.
On Jan 9, 2007, Shah Rukh Khan was featured against Amitabh Bachchan in the "We the Mediator" segment of the American news-comedy show The Colbert Report and was defeated by latter because "he dances" (clips were shown from Mohabbatein in which Bachchan has no songs). However, Colbert changed his decision on Jan 19 and awarded Bachchan with the victory after witnessing Bachchan's dancing skills in the song "Say Shava Shava" from Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham.
Amitabh Bachchan won his 1984 MP candidacy by the highest victory margin ever for a parliamentary candidate in Indian history [16].
On February of 2007, the Samajwadi Party in conjunction with the TDP, DMK, and other fronts wants to nominate Amitabh Bachchan for the candidacy of President of India once Abdul Kalam's term ends [17].

TN Sheshan - Strong Man the Iron Man. For having shown to the masses that Chief Election Commissioner of India wasn't merely a rubber stamp. He didn't rest at Oh, President of India's post is constitutionally meant to lay low. He found out a way to get the job done and set the standard for future CECs to follow.
Amitabh Bachchan - Single handedly made Hindi Cinema popular around the world and laid a very solid foundation. This has many fallouts, it creates employment and brings lot of revenues which adds to the India's bottom line. People from Pakistan, Afghanistan, Nepal, Bangladesh, Srilanka watch Hindi movies and listen to Hindi music and ultimately get to know our culture which helps us maintain the hegemony in the region and hopefully one day India's combined economic and entertainment influence becomes so large that we become a grand nation Bharat again.
Narendra Modi - Again this guy is strong man and has great organizational and leadership skills and given proper opportunity can take India to next height. Some may say he aided communal riots etc, we don't know for sure, In a country of billion plus people things get distorted real quickly in the absence of credible media and vote bank politics. In Complicated situations like this, we can not possibly realize the difficulty one faces - watch movie DEV.
