You could find more details in a thread specific to Chennai Schools. BTW, my son(LKG) goes to Harishree and my daughter(2std) goes to DAV. We like it a lot and moving our daughter also to Harishree. We see lot of repetitive learning in DAV and I heard Harishree is not like that. And I have met few parents and all are happy with Harishree. BTW, I heard now it is slowly getting tougher to get adminssions in Harishree unlike last year.

my wife teaches their and lately the school received ICSE affiliation credentials. It is one of the chettinad group school and IMHO targetting only NRIs.

Hello ChennaiDREAM !!!,
If you don't mind and if it is okay to share:
1) Could you please share the details of the the written test at PSBB M, Porur?
2) Please add your experience and how the kids felt about the test (tough/easy)?
3) What is the academic background of the kids before the test? Where did they go to school before?
4) Do you know if the 2009-10 admissions are still in progress? What is the last date to apply / take test?
5) Any other useful / suitable info is greatly helpful
I have a 6th grader and a 2nd grader. Planning to R2I based on certain other variables. Please advice on PSBB M @ Porur.

is now accepting applications for the OMR campus.
I went today to look at the Porur campus or rather Gerugambakkam campus. Work is happening at quite a pace. They are levelling the ground. Classes up to 3rd std will be at the GST road campus. All other classes are supposed to be in the Porur campus. It remains to be seen if they can finish the construction off by June.

the written test consist of english, math and HINDI. It was a breeze in English and math for both kids. Elder one has done average in HINDI and younger one almost given empty paper back in hindi.

3) What is the academic background of the kids before the test? Where did they go to school before?[quote]
They studied in US till last aug and from then studying in INDIA.

Also we went and checked the PORUR campus. It is NOt upto the standard what we expected. The building is just till plinth. I 100% doubt they can complete by may end as classes are supposed to start from june. Also I dont like that hasty construction.
The sorroundings of the school asre NOT OK for us. there are huts and old buildings . It was not lived to our expectatiions So, we almost made up our mind of not joining the kids here. FYI
Hope this helps...

CHI2MAA - Thanks a bunch for the useful info.
Do you know about a school called "Lalaji Memorial Omega International School(LMOIS)" in that neighborhood specifically on Manapakkam Main Road which is very close to (may be less than couple of miles) PSBB M Porur location.
I know about this school but not sure if any one here in this forum know about this school which is run by Shri Ram Chandra Mission (Babuji Ashram), Manapakkam. Here is the school website http://www.omegaschools.org/
and here is the the mission website http://srcm.com/index.jsp
Anyone has info on the school , please share your views.
The reason I ask is , LMOIS and PSBB M were in my list of choice but now I believe I am left with only LMIOS.
best regards

Dear Friends who want to return to Chennai or Dear Chennaites who are already living close to ECR/OMR Road:
It seems that there will be a new school to be open in June 2010 at Neelankarai, ECR Road which is close to OMR Road (May be around 6 kms but less traffic). The school is CBSE affliated under Maharishi Vidya Mandhir but is run by two business groups GT and Aloha. I am not sure whether the fees will be very expensive and will cater only to rich people however if any of you folks live close to ECR/OMR Road and are interested to know more about the school, please let us know through this thread so that we all are benefited.
Being a new school, we may not know much details but I am interested more in knowing the profile of the students and the family background so that it will be useful to enroll my kids as I am looking for a school with more concentration of middle class family background students.
Regards
