Which washing machine/dryer did you buy after R2I

We have been using an LG 6.2kg top load washing machine (fuzzy logic/turbo drum) for the last 8 months. We do 1-2 full loads of laundry per week using it. On hindsight, I should have bought a front loading machine as one can stack up the dryer on top. We also have a IFB Maxidry tumble dryer which is ...

Vacuum bags for storing woollens/quilts

Dear sumachechi, GutsyGibon and okonomi, Many thanks for your inputs. We got some of these bags when we moved from the UK a few months back and used these to store some of our winter clothing. Now I find that the stuff that were packed in these bags didn't grow any mould, but everything else did ...

Vacuum bags for storing woollens/quilts

Does anyone know where I can buy vacuum bags (space saver bags) for storing winter clothes/quilts in Mumbai? Are these available online? I checked Indiatimes shopping/Infibeam etc but could not find anything there. This is something like what I am looking for: <http://www.argos.co.uk/static/Product ...

Anyone R2I from United Kingdom

[QUOTE=Retrophile;395076] Could someone who has made the move back in the past one or two years, tell me what the 5 most challenging aspects have been since returning to India? Admittedly, 6 years is not a great deal of time, but I still want to brace myself for the reverse culture shock. Thanks ...

Mumbai, Garbage and Group Action Plan

Dear Mumbai_2009,

This hasn't been much discussion in the thread for a while, so am not sure if you are still thinking along these lines. In case you are, count me in. Thanks.

Anyone R2I from United Kingdom

Moved back to Mumbai from UK a few months back. Both of us used to work in academia in the UK. We don't have kids, so don't know much about local schools etc. If you have any specific questions, I will be happy to answer.

Where to find Kitchen storage containers

I've seen good quality airtight see-through storage containers (like the ones you might find in IKEA) in typical home shops like Hometown and At Home in Mumbai. But as these are imported usually, they are expensive. Typically a ~1L container cost about 600-800 rupees when I checked the last time.
